Nope, I’m not referring to the Restaurant Makeover eatery that was formerly Ithaca. I’m talking about the Greek restaurant on the east side of town. Ithaca is also the name of an island in Greece. That’s about as much as I know with regards to the name of the restaurant, but it gives me another location to put on my places to travel list. This is my first time eating at Ithaca despite passing by it many times. Having said that, first impressions will count as usual, but you’ll mainly hear how the experience was like.
This past weekend I attended Taste of the Danforth. Toronto is home to one of the largest Greek communities outside of Greece. Every August, Greektown would host this food and culture festival that would shut down a section of Danforth Avenue for 3 days. Vendors line up the streets with their spits and grills and cook away to feed a large hungry crowd. There’s barely no place to move within this thick flock and with line ups everywhere, patience is gold!
