2011 was something magical. The year started with a decision to move to Japan where I was greeted with one of the largest earthquakes in history, an immersion of life in another country, and of course, discovering the culture through food and dining experiences.
I recently returned and for those following the website, you can expect to read about details of the adventures in Japan as well as the journeys elsewhere from here on. It is my honour to reflect on and recount all of these experiences by sharing with those who have the same love for food and culture. Updates are coming soon.
…temporarily, at least. It’s also the reason I haven’t been updating this website as of late since I’m scrambling to get things done. You’d think I’m crazy if I told you I’m moving there because I loved most of what I ate right? It would make a great argument but not quite the reason why this is happening. I took on an opportunity to work at a Japanese company.
It’s Christmas Eve. What better time than this to wish everyone a safe and joyous holiday! I know some have already taken off to go wherever they need to be, but my wishes go to them all the same. As for me, I’m going to be spending the better part of next week with the fam and then off I go to Haliburton for some fun in the snow. This small town is north of Toronto and incredibly close to Algonquin Park. Have you been there? This will be my first time so I’ll let you know how that goes. On a similar note, what kinds of things are you looking forward to for the holidays?
Just before we both take off, or after we come back for that matter, I want to inform you that I won’t be updating the website during the next couple of weeks. But you can expect to see new posts appear in January. I hope to come back refreshed as ever and document many more exciting things about my food and travel adventures. Oh no, that sounded like a New Year’s resolution didn’t it? Here’s the thing (haha here I go again), I don’t believe in resolutions. I believe that everyone has the ability to start fresh any day of the year so I don’t tend to make them. Take what I said as coincidence and fuel to what I’ve been doing all along. Please don’t restrain yourself to making changes only on January 1st! Anyway, have fun, smile lots, eat more, and be safe. Happy holidays!
