Rarely do I leave the house without my camera. I forget the phone sometimes but never the camera. But what good is a camera without a memory card. Turning it on only to find no memory card seems to have occurred more than once, and I should find a solution already so that it doesn’t happen again. Consequently, my visit to Fortune Dynasty is shot entirely on the iPhone. Lesson learned, my next project will be to make a memory card keychain of some sort.
Somehow, I always find myself in the most hole-in-the-wall places as you can ever imagine. For the record, I’ve managed to find decent eats at those places so I’m never hesitant to try them. However, I’m hesitant in bringing guests to such a place before I do a test run for comfort reasons. When I do find something worthy of bringing a friend, I make sure they’ll understand what to expect from the experience. Or I go ahead and order takeout because I know the experience would be much better at home. This time, I went solo to a little joint called Basilico Italian Bistro.
It’s that time of year again when people around me are dropping like flies. As a result, the inspiration for this post spawned. Fevers here, coughs there, runny noses in between. No worries, I got your back. Before we break out to a game of Mad Gab, let me decrypt the title. King-to Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa is a hardly legible translated name for an awesome Chinese product that relieves anything you could think would go wrong with your throat. Coughs, sores, loss of voice, you name it. It’s not exactly medicine and perhaps for this reason it doesn’t have the same awful taste as Buckley’s, but it makes your throat happy without making you drowsy and has a pleasing herbal honey taste to go with it. Some of you may already know this product.
If you had to make quick errands, read movie purchases, at Oriental Centre, you may have noticed this large restaurant located on the second level of the mall. I made reservations at The Pearl of Asia for dinner one weekend rather than dropping in because I knew this restaurant always has wedding dinners and other parties to accommodate during weekends. Unsurprisingly, most of the restaurant space was booked for a grand event that Saturday so tables for regular diners were merely a small room to the side. But I can’t be bothered. It’s a lot quieter to say the least.
Nope, I’m not referring to the Restaurant Makeover eatery that was formerly Ithaca. I’m talking about the Greek restaurant on the east side of town. Ithaca is also the name of an island in Greece. That’s about as much as I know with regards to the name of the restaurant, but it gives me another location to put on my places to travel list. This is my first time eating at Ithaca despite passing by it many times. Having said that, first impressions will count as usual, but you’ll mainly hear how the experience was like.
